So many talented people and entrepreneurs like you don’t believe their unique stories are valuable!
I've seen so many of my clients hide the best parts of themselves without even realizing it. They take for granted all of their life experiences and instead hide all of their real value behind what they think people want to hear and see.
When people read or hear your story, they remember who you are and more importantly want to know more of you. This is why telling your story is so important!
Your Story is your platform to talk about who you are, what you stand for, why you do the work that you do and most importantly, why people will want to work with you.
Your story is powerful.
I know that it can be challenging to tell your story when you are inside of it. All of your experiences and challenges can swirl around you and can be influenced by your emotions from moment to moment so you may be wondering how to even begin to tell your Story.
The best way to begin anything is simply to start.
Through my work with clients in a variety of professions and industries, I’ve developed an easy, 4-step framework that will help you craft the story you want to tell. Don’t worry about trying to include every single experience in your life. The goal is to select the experiences you’ve had that you believe will be most helpful to your audience. After you complete the 4-Step Framework, specific themes and/or metaphors should begin to emerge for you. These will serve as the threads that will tie your story together.
A good story should accomplish the following:
- Who you are and what you stand for.
- What you do and who you help.
- Why you do what you do. (This super important! People will connect most with your "why")
- Why YOU are best person to help your target market or audience. (what sets you apart?)
